Christ Ruling His People

September 12, 2009

“Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.” — Psalm 149:2

Our Creator is also our Redeemer, and this is a cause of rejoicing. Christ is the Ruler and King of His people, including all those who are truly in spiritual union to His Church. His reign should result in our joy.

If we always were inclined to do this, there would be no need for the Psalmist to command us to do it. It is because we so often forget that the Spirit comes to us in this passage and whispers, “I still rule and reign among you. Now rejoice in Me.”

    Dear Jason:

Thank you for your very kind words, and your carefully thought-out comments to my Post. You have taken my thoughts on the matter very seriously, and have put a great deal of thought and effort into making a very high quality Comment. I genuinely feel very honored by you, and your very thorough efforts.

There are several points in your Comments that I would like to comment on myself, as I’m sure you perhaps thought I might. Like you, I think I’d like to respond via my own Site, especially since that way I understand I can “do some good” for you as well – my wife tells me that such links in several ways dramatically improve our “Webstats,” and somehow help to “get our views out there.” Apparently, the link you put to my Site in your response-post here somehow does my Site a great deal of good. So I want to “return the favor” for you. Please understand that it will take me several days to put it “up,” so please, if you would, please be patient with me. As you have so admirably done here, I also would like to make a very careful & well-thought-out response.

Lastly, I’d just like to say that I very much appreciate your picture of Robert Lewis Dabney – even though I’m much older now, he is still very much a literal hero & role-model of mine. I revere him highly; perhaps you do as well.

    So Thanks again, dear Brother-in-Christ.
